Join us for a rare opportunity to learn from the executives of the iconic Hong Kong Tramways and have a behind-the-scenes visit of their operations, including the network control room and the main depot at Sai Ying Pun (Whitty Street), where the double-decker trams are maintained, repaired and even rebuilt, using a combination of modern and museum-grade historic components.

Hong Kong Tramways underwent a turnaround in recent years, with the 160 trams being actively turned into outdoor advertising supports, in the face of declining ridership. Fun operational aspects include the challenges posed by heavy road traffic and the opening of real-time geolocalization data.

About Hong Kong Tramways
Founded in 1904, the company was acquired in 1974 by Wharf. Since 2009, it is owned and operated by RATP Dev Transdev, a JV between France-based RATP Group and Transdev (formerly Veolia Transport), that operates metro, bus and tram lines across Asia.
