Executives and policymakers around the world are awakening to a new challenge - the growing gap between the requirements of the workplace and the skills of the workforce. The pace of technological change and requirements of an information and automation-based economy have changed the mix of skills employers are seeking and rendered ineffective their traditional models of hiring workers. In most countries, those changes have outstripped the capacity of the educational establishment to respond. Demographics are exacerbating this threat.

Professor Fuller, the leader of a multi-year project at Harvard Business School on Managing the Future of Work, will discuss the school's path breaking research on issues such as the technological displacement of workers, the skills gap, the gig economy and global talent flows. Joe is a Professor of Management Practice and was a founder, first employee and long-time CEO of Monitor, the global consultancy.

You may follow his research through the project's website-- https://www.hbs.edu/managing-the-future-of-work/Pages/about-the-project.aspx -- and through its podcast series on Apple, Stitcher and Googleplay.
