DEADLINE EXTENDED to 20th January 2007 BY POPULAR REQUEST. Planning for the Harvard Alumni Golf Group's first outing is in earnest. Seven flights of golfers have already been arranged; and 5 non-golfers have booked to go. We have booked a HBSA exclusive Bus for the day, so the socializing starts from 9:00AM .

Deadline is now extended to 20th January 2007 (for the last time) for members with uncertain schedules.

Our first outing will be to the Harbour Plaza Golf Club located near Dongguan. It is one of the most exclusive golf courses in South China, as walk-ins and tour groups are not allowed. Many golfers have heard about the 27-hole course, but have not been able to go. Developed by Mr. Li Ka-shing's Hutchison Whampoa, the course is well-known for being Mr. Li's own playground.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones II, the Harbour Plaza Golf Club course was voted as having one of "China's 18 Signature Holes" by Asian Golf Monthly; while the club was named as having the best service in China by China Golf Magazine.

HAGG has arranged a full programme at the Harbour Plaza Golf Club, including 18 holes of golf and a golf clinic with renowned UK PGA pro, Mr. Richard Ivens. Golfers can also compete for "longest drive", "nearest to pin" and lucky draw prizes. Following golf, there will be a gourmet dinner (with prize-winning dishes) and presentation of prizes, donated by Harbour Plaza Golf Club and Taylor-made, at an award-winning Cantonese restaurant.
